Based out of Boulder, Colorado, we recognize that our client’s mission and projects take place in a global environment. We understand the necessity of going where the work is, and are able to deploy to serve clients in a diverse geography.

Vicki Scharnhorst is the president of 40th Parallel Consulting, a marketing and management consulting firm based out of Boulder, Colorado. 40th Parallel Consulting provides expertise, processes and tools to assist technology-based firms with strategy, business development, project delivery and operations.

Vicki graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Kansas State University and began her career as a water resources engineer. She formerly worked with MWH, a global engineering and construction firm providing wet-infrastructure services (water supply, demand-side management, treatment and storage, water quality, environmental restoration) to public and private clients in 34 countries. Serving as a Senior Vice President, she directed operations in excess of 175 personnel, and managed large water resources projects and programs valued at over $2.2B.

She attended the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program in 2007, is a LEED® Accredited Professional, and is a registered engineer in four states. Vicki is currently completing coursework to become a certified Professional Leadership and Executive Coach to work with clients and staff to deepen their learning, improve performance and enhance their quality of life.

She serves on the City of Boulder Water Resources Advisory Board, the Kansas State University Engineering Advisory Council, the Rocky Mountain Section AWWA Membership Committee, and is a member of the American Water Works Association, the Water Environment Federation, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. She served as a member of the Kansas State Civil Engineering Advisory Council from 2005 through 2011.
